Clybucca Memorial Garden is a reminder of the worst bus crash in Australian history. At three thirty in the morning on 22 December 1989 two fully loaded coaches collided on the Pacific Highway at Clybucca, 12 kilometres north of Kempsey, after one of the drivers fell asleep at the wheel and the coach crossed onto the wrong side of the road into the path of the north bound coach.
